Simple, flexible and environmentally friendly

The Green Rail Pass is a new transport pass, valid on CP, for residents in Portugal. The €20 pass can be purchased any day of the month and is valid for 30 consecutive days.

This pass is loaded onto the CP Card for period you want.

Its validity corresponds to the mode and for a specific period, so a Pass that has not been loaded or whose validity has expired will not be able to travel and will be considered a Customer without a ticket and subject to a fine.

Charging is available from 21 October at CP ticket offices and at the new Ticket vending machines installed at stations in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

Use

You can travel on any route on the following trains:

Intercidades (in 2nd class, subject to advance seat reservation, and free of charge)
Regional trains
InterRegional trains (2nd class)
Coimbra urban trains
Lisbon urban trains (for journeys outside the metropolitan area):

Carregado/Azambuja

Porto urban trains (on routes outside the metropolitan area):

Vila das Aves/Guimarães
Paredes/Marco de Canaveses
Paramos/Aveiro
Lousado/ Braga

Intercidades

This Pass lets you can travel in 2nd class, but you must book a seat for your journey in advance.

Each seat reservation must be made no more than 24 hours in advance.

The seat reservation is free of charge and the journey must take place within the validity period of the Pass.

Seats may be reserved for two different journeys per day.

Seat reservations can be made at the online ticket office, at ticket offices or at the new Ticket Vending

Machines installed at stations in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

If you don't make a reservation for the Intercidades train, you will be considered a customer without a ticket,subject to a fine.

Booking will soon be available on the CP APP.

Price: €20.00

Can be purchased for 30, 60 or 90 days.

No other discounts apply.

Loading the pass

This pass is loaded onto a CP Card and can be topped up at CP ticket offices and at the new Ticket Vending Machines at stations in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

If you already have a CP Card, you can use it for this pass.

If you don't have a CP Card, you must apply for one at a ticket office.

You will need to fill in and present the CP Card application form (cost of the normal card - €6.00).

You can for the card to issued in 24 hours at Lisbon Santa Apolónia Station after 19 September, with delivery on the working day following the request (cost of the 24-hour issue card - €12.00).

Exchange and refund

Pass:

This pass cannot be exchanged or refunded.

If a train is cancelled or for requests for reimbursement and compensation for delays for reasons attributable to CP, please consult the conditions for CP passes.

Seat reservation for the Intercidades service:

A seat reservation cannot be changed to another day/time, but it can be cancelled.

It must be cancelled up to 15 minutes before the train leaves from the station of origin entered on the reservation, to make the seat available for other customers, and it will not count towards the two reservations available per day.
