Festival of the crosses
Barcelos from 30 April to 4 May.
The first of the great Minho region pilgrimages is back, with the Festa das Cruzes (Festival of the Crosses) marking the cycle of festivities that continues until the end of the summer.
Barcelos is once again hosting one of Minho's most famous festivals and one of its most popular and typical pilgrimages. This year's edition features various cultural and recreational initiatives, among which the tradition of natural flower carpets.
Travel by train to Barcelos and take part in this great festival of Portuguese popular culture.
CP Services: Regional and InterRegional
Barcelos train station is 1 km from the city center and the places where the event's activities take place.
Seating on the Minho Line will be increased on the following days and trains:
- 1 and 3 May:
- InterRegional 830 - departs from Valença at 18:10 and stops in Barcelos at 19:28;
- InterRegional 853 - departs Porto São Bento at 13:05 and stops in Barcelos at 13:53.

Regional and InterRegional
Tickets available from CP ticket offices, Online ticket officee, CP App or on the train when boarding at stations without a ticket office. Payment on board can only be made in cash or with a CPmais card.
Celtic International Train
Tickets available from CP ticket offices with international sales or the Renfe website where you must buy the ticket for Nine station, which allows you to travel to/from Barcelos Station.
