The Christmas Steam Train is more than a journey - it's an immersion into the Christmas spirit, where tradition, nostalgia and fun come together to create magical moments for the whole family and anyone who wants a unique experience.
On weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) 14 and 15, 21 and 22, 28 and 29 December, and 4 and 5 January, the iconic CP 0186 steam locomotive and 5 historic carriages run between Porto São Bento and Ermesinde, where the characteristic train whistle and steam coming out of the chimney make the journey very immersive.

There will be four journeys every day: two to Ermesinde and two back to Porto São Bento.
The steam locomotive and the wooden carriages are decorated with Christmas motifs and lights for an immersive journey.
On board are elves who will spread joy and offer sweets to the passengers, and there will be characters from a period theatre group to liven up the journeys.
In Ermesinde you can visit the Christmas Village and the largest Christmas Tree in the country, in the Ermesinde Urban Park, just 5 minutes away from the station.

- These tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged;
- Tickets for this train are only valid for the day and route for which they were issued;
- If you want to travel on the historic train in both directions, you will need to buy tickets for both journeys;
- Tickets for the Historic Christmas Steam Train allow you to travel on the same day on the Porto Urban Trains, if you show the steam train ticket;
- If journeys are cancelled by CP, customers will receive a full refund.
