Free youth passes up to 23
Since 1 December 2024, all young people have been able enjoy a free pass for use on urban service trains (Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon) and regional service trains:
- up to the age of 23 (until the last day of the month in which they turn 24) - regardless of whether or not they are a student;
- up to the age of 24 (until the last day of the month in which they turn 25) - students attending courses with an integrated study cycle, namely Architecture and Urbanism, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Dental Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.
- When travelling home-school or home-work, where there is a need to use a pass that covers more than one Metropolitan Area or Intermunicipal Community, you must prove that you live and study or work in distinct and contiguous regions.
The other conditions for access to free travel remain unchanged.
Young people with a CP card or Navegante card who, because they are not students, have already paid for and topped up their pass for the month of December, must request a refund at a ticket office by 13 December 2024 by handing in the original invoice or simplified invoice for the top-up.
