Reusable cards: Andante and Siga
The Siga Occasional is a reusable card equipped with contactless technology, allowing you to load occasional trips for train travel in the Porto Urban Trains.
The Blue Andante reusable card is a contactless card that can be loaded with occasional trips, allowing you to travel on various operators participating in the Andante intermodal system in the Porto Metropolitan Area.
Whether you travel by bus, metro or train, you can always use Andante. The price you pay depends on the route you take. the mode of transport you use and the number of journeys you make.
Regardless of the type of ticket, you must validate it whenever you start a new journey, except when changing trains. You must validate no more than 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the train. (This time restriction only applies to Siga cards).

Conditions of use on CP
- One holder uses the card on each journey.
- Load journeys at ticket offices or automatic ticket machines.
- Load one type of ticket and one route at a time; finish the previous ticket before loading another. Therefore, if, for example, you have loaded a full ticket for the Porto-São Bento/Ermidense route, you must complete that journey before loading another ticket for the same route or a different one.
- It costs €0.50. This amount is non-refundable.
- You must keep your card in good condition and keep it with you throughout your journey and until you leave the station.
- It is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. After this period, you can still use tickets with a balance for the following 12 months, but you cannot load them.
- You can find the expiry date on the chip, and you can check it at any CP ticket office.
Care and warranty
- The cards contain an electronic circuit and must be protected properly. Store the cards carefully, keeping them flat, within stable temperatures, and free from adhesives other than the “transport seal”. electrical or electromagnetic effects, scraping, scratching or splashing.
- The card has a warranty period of two years from the date of issue. During this warranty period, CP will replace it free of charge if it ceases to function due to a fault.
- If the card reader can read the existing balance on the card or if a validation record exists within the last 15 minutes, we will complete the exchange immediately. If the card reader cannot read the existing balance and no validation record exists within the last 15 minutes. In that case, we will transfer the card balance to another card seven days after we record the anomaly in the system.
- A card is considered faulty only if it fails to work and shows no visible damage, such as cracks, cuts, a chip that is completely or partially detached, bends or other signs of misuse or abuse.
- Outside of these situations or once the warranty period has expired, the passenger must buy a new card.
Conditions of use on CP
- This is a card for occasional travel, and allows travel for a certain period depending on the number of zones purchased (Z2 – 2 zone rings, Z3 – 3 zone rings, etc.).
- It is valid for a single holder on each journey.
- It costs €0.60. You cannot receive a refund for this amount.
- It is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. After the expiry date, you must use any remaining credit within the following 12 months, and you cannot add more credit.
- Validate your ticket before boarding, using the validators at stations or access doors.
- Keep the receipt until the end of the validity period of the ticket purchased.
