Where and How can I use the Green Rail Pass?

It allows you to travel on any route on Regional and InterRegional trains, as well as on the Coimbra, Lisbon and Porto Urban Trains, and in second class on Intercidades trains.

• On Lisbon Urban Trains, you must validate your Green Rail Pass at the validators or compatible access control gates located at the stations before starting your journey.Where different types of equipment are available, please follow the signage at the station.
  If you are changing from a Regional, InterRegional or Intercidades train to a Lisbon Urban train, please validate your Green Rail Pass again before boarding, using the compatible ticket validators or controlled access gates at the station, even if the staff on the previous train have already checked your ticket.
   
• On Porto and Coimbra Urban Trains, as well as Regional and InterRegional trains, the ticket inspector validates the Green Rail Pass on board.
   
• On the Intercidades service, you must make an advance seat reservation, which is free of charge and compulsory, within 24 hours prior to your journey, based on when the train starts its journey, even if this is not your boarding station. If you board at an intermediate station, the reservation must correspond to the route you actually intend to take.
  You can book via the online ticket office, the CP App, cp.pt, CP ticket offices or at the ticket machines installed at stations in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
  Only one booking is permitted per train/day.
  Please book the Intercidades train to ensure a smooth journey and avoid fines.

The Green Rail Pass loads onto the CP Card. If you don't have this card, please get one.
