Cascais Line
Changes services - 5, 13, 19 e 20 September
Since 6 April, as progress on the railway infrastructure modernisation project has advanced, work has focused on the section between Caxias and Cascais.
During periods of total rail traffic closure, we provide a replacement bus service that stops at Cascais, Monte do Estoril, Estoril, S. João do Estoril, S. Pedro do Estoril, Parede, Carcavelos, Oeiras, Santo Amaro, Paço de Arcos and Caxias.
This service runs from Monday to Friday from 9:50 p.m., on Saturdays from 8:50 p.m., and on Sundays between 5:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. and from 7:50 p.m.
At all other times, train services will run as usual.
Train times
- The times are indicative as they may vary depending on traffic conditions.
- On the Cascais – Cais do Sodré route, connections to scheduled trains at Oeiras station are not guaranteed, except for the last train of the evening.

Bus stops

- Bus stop locations can also be checked at Customer Assistance Offices and CP Ticket Offices.
- You must hold a valid ticket when boarding buses operating the replacement bus service.
- Validate your ticket using the validators located at the entrances to the replacement buses. Validation of all passes, season tickets and tickets is mandatory.
- Buses operated by CP will be clearly marked and equipped with access ramps for passengers with reduced mobility.
- The replacement bus service cannot carry wheelchairs, bicycles or scooters. Small pets can be taken if they are in an appropriate container that can be carried as hand luggage.
- Group tickets are not accepted on the replacement bus service.
To meet the transport needs of those attending the Ivete Clareou show at the Estoril Casino Gardens, we will temporarily suspend modernisation works on the Cascais Line on the evening of Saturday 5 September, and we will also pause the associated replacement bus service; trains will therefore run according to the regular timetable.
The modernisation works and the associated replacement bus service will resume from 5:30 a.m. on Sunday 6 September

To meet the travel needs of the public and participants in the Corrida do Tejo on Av. Marginal in Oeiras, we will temporarily suspend modernisation works on the Cascais Line on the morning of Sunday 13 September, and we will also pause the associated replacement bus service; trains will therefore run according to the regular timetable.
The modernisation works and the associated replacement bus service will resume from 7:30 p.m. on the same day.

To meet the transport needs associated with the Cascais Fest events in Carcavelos and the ‘Mexa-se na Marginal’ event on Av. Marginal, between Caxias and Oeiras, we will temporarily suspend modernisation works on the Cascais Line from the evening of Saturday 19 September and the morning of Sunday 20 September, as will the associated replacement bus service; trains will therefore run according to the regular timetable.
The modernisation works and the associated replacement bus service will resume from 7:30 p.m. on Sunday 20 September.
