Sustainable Development means different things to different people. Essentially, however, it is related with the option to respond to people's needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to respond to their needs.
As such, Sustainable Development involves:

CP has a franchise from the Portuguese State that defines the public rail transport services essential for the development of the country and its social and territorial cohesion.
Environment
We are striving to improve our environmental performance. We set up our Environmental Policy for purely voluntary reasons and are investing in attaining our goal by implementing and certifying our Environmental Management System (EMS).
Quality and Safety
Customer satisfaction, employee motivation, competitiveness, growing market demands and special and economic environment drive CP to maintain and develop its Quality and Safety Management System.
Social Responsability
