Young people between the ages of 4 and 23 can get a free pass to use on CP to travel on urban (Porto, Lisbon and Coimbra), regional and inter-regional trains.
Students up to the age of 24 on integrated study programmes, such as Architecture and Urbanism, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine, are also covered.
Although free of charge, the pass must be topped up.

Each young person can only apply for one free pass, and cannot benefit from more than one pass at the same time for:
If they want to use the train to travel between an Intermunicipal Community (CIM) and the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, they must opt for free travel on the CP Subscription ticket or the Passe Navegante ticket, as each young person cannot benefit from free travel on more than one ticket at the same time.
If they want to use the train to travel between the Metropolitan Area of Porto and an Intermunicipal Community (CIM) or to travel between two neighbouring CIMs, they must provide:

Foreign citizens who do not have a Portuguese NIF (tax identification number) must request it from the Tax Authority. Without this information, the card cannot be issued.
The card is valid for up to 4 years, until the end of the month in which you turn 24 or 25 (in the case of higher education students attending courses with an integrated study cycle, namely Architecture and Urbanism, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine).
To have access to the free monthly pass, it must be topped up at a CP ticket office and the corresponding card must be presented.
