CP attends European Heritage Days 2023.
Joseph Layraud (1833-1913) painted the world's pioneering engineering project, the House of Eiffel.
The European Heritage Days 2023, under the theme "Living Heritage", are being run by the Council of Europe and the European Union, between 22 and 24 September and are being promoted in Portugal by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC).
On the event's website, visitors can see the oil painting "Inauguration of the D. Maria Pia Bridge in Porto in 1877", by the French painter who was in Portugal between 1873 and 1877, also represented in the Ajuda Palace.
