The National Drawing Competition on Rail Transport is a joint event organised by the National Railway Museum Foundation, CP - Comboios de Portugal, IP - Infraestruturas de Portugal and DGstE - Direção Geral dos Estabelecimentos Escolares. This year it celebrated its 4th edition with the theme ‘Crossing Paths’, asking children to create an original drawing of a real or imaginary train journey and how it can cross paths in our lives.
The National Railway Museum, in Entroncamento, hosted the prize-giving ceremony this Saturday and it was with great enthusiasm that the winning artists were honoured, from among hundreds of drawings from primary and secondary schoolsup and down the country.
The ceremony was attended by the organisations involved, participants in the competition, families and school representatives, in a moment of recognition for the children's talent, while also highlighting the importance of the train as a sustainable means of transport.
CP also launched the challenge of organising family train journeys during the Christmas holidays, which will build future memories for these children.
After the prize-giving ceremony, the competition exhibition was inaugurated, featuring the 45 highest-scoring drawings and which will be open to the public until 21 March 2025.
