CP awards bar service to a new operator

The bars on CP - Comboios de Portugal's Alfa Pendular and Intercidades long-distance trains have had a new operator, ITAU - Instituto Técnico de Alimentação Humana S.A., since the beginning of April, as part of a public tender.
Among the new features is the extension of the bar service to the Intercidades trains on the Alentejo Line, reinforcing CP's commitment to continuously improving the travelling experience.

With the aim of increasing customer satisfaction and recognition, the new operation includes a greater variety of products and a more frequent minibar service on the Alfa Pendular, which now runs twice per journey in each direction - double the previous frequency - allowing passengers to enjoy a wide range of products, including coffees, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, cakes, sweets, savouries, sandwiches, light meals (such as salads, burgers and breakfast boxes) and healthy options.

The permanent bar service is available on all regular and special Alfa Pendular services travelling on the Lisbon/Porto/Braga; Braga/Porto/Lisbon; Porto/Lisbon/Faro; and Faro/Lisbon/Porto routes. In the case of Intercidades, it covers the Lisbon/Porto; Porto/Lisbon; Lisbon/Faro; Faro/Lisbon; Lisbon/Covilhã/Guarda; Guarda/Covilhã/Lisbon; Lisbon/Coimbra/Guarda; Guarda/Coimbra/Lisbon; Lisbon/Évora; and Évora/Lisbon routes - a total of more than 22,000 trains a year.

With this renewal, CP is reinforcing its commitment to the quality of its service, ensuring that every passenger has a more comfortable, pleasant and special journey.
