CP - Comboios de Portugal is pleased to announce the Christmas Edition of the Vouga historical train, a magical experience that will combine railway charm with Christmas magic. This special edition will feature 7 unique journeys, scheduled for 25 November, 1, 2, 8, 9, 16 December and 6 January.
This initiative is the result of a partnership between CP, the Municipality of Águeda and the Macinhata do Vouga parish council.
The route starts at Aveiro station at 1.45 p.m. and heads to Macinhata do Vouga, where passengers will be invited to take a guided tour of the Railway Museum. The journey then continues to Águeda, where travellers will have the opportunity to experience the switching on of the city's Christmas lights and meet the country's biggest and smallest Father Christmas.
During the journey, passengers will have the opportunity to savour typical local sweets, including the delicious miniature pastéis de Águeda, courtesy of the municipality. The train is scheduled to arrive in Aveiro at 8.06 p.m., concluding the Christmas journey.
The Vouga historic train will be drawn by the CP 9004 diesel locomotive, a historical piece built at the end of the 1950s.
The train is also made up of five carriages that are real gems of railway history:
Tickets for this unique experience are available for sale through the usual CP channels, promising a journey through time and history, combined with the Christmas spirit.
