Cherry Trees in Blossom Circuit

Enjoy a train journey through the Beira Baixa region of Portugal, with fantastic views of the Fundão cherry trees.

This is a magnificent journey that combines the pleasure of travelling by train through the stunning landscape of the Beira Baixa region, where the scenery is dotted with white cherry blossoms, in partnership with the Municipality of Fundão.

  • 8:15 a.m. - Departure from Lisbon Santa Apolónia on Intercidades train no. 541 in a reserved 1st class carriage;
  • 11:38 a.m. - Arrival at Fundão Station. Reception by Fundão Tourism guide. Guided tour of the Historic Centre of Fundão and the Milling Museum;
  • 12:30 p.m./2:45 p.m. - Free time for lunch;
  • 3:00 p.m. - Departure by coach, with guide, to Alcongosta for a guided tour of Casa da Cereja with cherry product tasting. Visit to the Cherry Trees in Bloom* by tourist train;
  • 4:45 p.m. - Departure by bus, with guide, for a visit to the Historic Village of Castelo Novo;
  • 6:15 p.m. - Departure by bus to Fundão Station and free time;
  • 7:25 p.m. - Departure for Lisbon on Intercidades train no. 544 in a reserved 1st class carriage.

 

*Weather conditions may affect the flowering of the cherry trees.

Notes:

The train has a cafeteria and bar service in its own coach. Comfortable clothing and footwear are recommended.
