CP once again joins forces with Viagem pelo Clima (Climate Journey)
Third edition starts today in Carcavelos
CP is once again partnering with Viagem pelo Clima (Climate Journey), an idea organised by Get2C, which aims to inform and raise awareness among the population about a more sustainable lifestyle, in partnership with the Cascais City Council. The initiative kicked off today at the Santa Maria do Mar Monastery in Carcavelos.
For 12 days, the challenge for the three teams, each with four members, is to cross the country from north to south, travelling in the most sustainable way possible and with the greatest positive impact on the regions. This criterion accounts for 70% of the final assessment of the teams and is decisive in determining the winners.
Each team will manage a symbolic budget allocated by the organisers in a fictitious currency called ‘Climas’; this currency will serve as a barometer for choices regarding food, water consumption, transportation, and social impact on the community as a whole.
CP, as a partner in travel provision, reinforces its commitment to addressing climate and environmental concerns while promoting more sustainable mobility.
The winning team will be the one that spends the least ‘Climas’ after evaluators assess the positive impact created throughout the trip in the various regions and the route taken in the most sustainable manner. The prize is the opportunity to participate in COP 30, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will take place in November 2025 in Brazil.
