Douro line

The train services on the Douro Line between Marco de Canaveses and Régua will continue as usual, contrary to what some news outlets reported today.

CP will return some UTD 592 series railcars, which currently operate regional services on the Douro Line, to Renfe, as they are reaching the end of their contractual service life. This arrangement will preserve all train services.

CP adjusts the allocation of rolling stock to serve its customers better, responding to their mobility needs. The ongoing electrification of some lines in the country and the arrival of new trains will allow CP to reallocate diesel units, among others, to the Douro Line.
