The National Railway Museum contains more than 165 years of railway history in Portugal.
We propose a journey through time, from the first steam locomotives to the railway transport of the future, with highlights including the Royal Train, the Steam Roundabout and the museum's entire train collection, as well as the chance to travel on board the mini-train.
The programme includes a guided tour of the Railway Quarter (Bairro do Boneco, Bairro Vila Verde and Bairro Camões). When you buy a ticket to the Museum, CP passengers are offered this visit.
Departure
- 08:30 - Meet and greet passengers at Lisbon Santa Apolónia Station;
- 08:55 - Departure from Lisbon Santa Apolónia with stops in Lisbon Oriente, Vila Franca de Xira and Entroncamento (offer of a typical cake - Feijadinhas);
- During the journey there will be a historical re-enactment of the journey of King Carlos and Queen Amélia on the Beira Baixa Line.
- 10:07 - Arrival of the Vintage Train and reception at Entroncamento Station;
- 10:30 - Start of the guided tour of the Railway Quarter (Boneco Quarter, Vila Verde Quarter and Camões Quarter). CP passengers who buy a ticket for access to the Museum will be offered this visit;
- 12:30 - Free time for lunch (passengers who wish may have lunch in the restaurant carriages that are part of the Museum's collection. Lunch costs €22, payable on site;
