Senior Technician – Civil Protection (Safety Department)

Location: Rossio, subject to travel required to perform duties.
General Duities:
- Prepare and update Self-Protection Measures, including emergency plans and technical reports;
- Monitor the maintenance and operation of fire safety systems, as well as carry out internal audits and inspections (firefighting systems);
- Collaborate with external entities such as Portugal’s National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC)and the Fire Brigade;
- Prepare studies, projects and emergency plans, with a focus on civil protection, risk management and operational continuity;
- Identify vulnerabilities and plan response and recovery actions in emergencies, including railway accidents;
- Comply with applicable legislation, namely Law No. 220/2008 and Ordinance No. 1532/2008, in their current versions.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Protection) or related areas.
Preferred Requirements:
- Training recognised by Portugal’s National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) for the preparation of Self-Protection Measures (required for buildings in risk categories 2 to 4);
- Certification as a Responsible Technician by ANEPC (in accordance with Article 15-A of Decree-Law No. 220/2008), in its current wording;
- Experience in similar roles;
- Complementary training in Fire Safety in Buildings (SCIE);
- Certified as an Occupational Safety Technician (Level 6);
- Valid driving licence.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SCIE legislation, namely Decree-Law No. 220/2008 and Ordinance No. 1532/2008, in their current wording;
- Good ability to identify and analyse risks;
- Knowledge of safety plan implementation;
- Solid knowledge of active and passive firefighting systems;
- High level of computer skills, from a user perspective, namely Teams, Zoom, Microsoft Office and Cisco Webex;
- Experience in AutoCAD;
- Good knowledge of English (spoken and written) and an optional second foreign language (French or Spanish).

Selection Process:
