The magic of the steam train and Christmas, between Porto and Ermesinde.

The Christmas Steam Train is more than just a journey; it is an immersion in the Christmas spirit, where tradition, nostalgia and fun come together to create magical moments for the whole family and for anyone who wants a unique experience.

On weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), from 13 December to 4 January, the iconic CP 0186 steam locomotive and 5 historical carriages run between Porto São Bento and Ermesinde, where the characteristic train whistle and steam from the chimney make the trip quite unforgettable.

Each Saturday and Sunday, there will be four trips: two between Porto São Bento and Ermesinde, and two between Ermesinde and Porto São Bento.

The steam locomotive and wooden carriages are decorated with Christmas motifs and lights for a truly Christmassy journey.

On board, there will be elves and a luminous elf who will spread joy and offer sweets to passengers, walking through the carriages in a festive spirit. 

In Ermesinde, you can visit the Christmas Village and the largest Christmas tree in the country, in Ermesinde Urban Park, located just a 5-minute walk from the station.

Journey 

  • Adult – €13.00;
  • Child (4 to 12 years old inclusive) - €6.50.

Dates:

  • Saturdays: 13, 20 and 27 December and 3 January;
  • Sundays: 14, 21 and 28 December and 4 January.
