CP Card

The CP Card is a personal, non-transferable card, valid exclusively for any citizens resident in Portugal, equipped with contactless technology, which allows you to load several CP Passes onto a single card, combining different routes and services, depending on your needs.  

The CP Card cannot be used to top up tickets from other transport operators. In the Lisbon or Porto Metropolitan Area, if you want to use the train and metro or bus, you must opt for the Navegante or Andante Card respectively. 

Tickets for the Lisbon and Porto urban buses cannot be topped up with the same card. 

When you apply for a CP card, you create a CP account, which allows you to receive information from CP according to the consent you have given.

To create your profile, we use techniques to identify your tastes and consumption habits. By individualising your profile, we will be able to provide you with personalised customer service and send you commercial offers and information about the services you have purchased, in accordance with your individual profile, in our legitimate interest. 

If you want to change the consent you gave when you applied for the card, we suggest creating a myCP account at cp.pt. 

Through the myCP account you can also: 

  • Buy tickets - buy your ticket online and get on the train with just an SMS;
  • Receive Notices - receive all the information and traffic changes for the services you want by email;
  • Receive a Newsletter - find out about the benefits and featured products every fortnight in your email;
  • Consult your journey history - access your tickets purchased on the Online Ticket Office or CP App;
  • Make Exchanges - if you want to change your journey, you can request a revalidation online;
  • Request Refunds - if you don't use your ticket, you can request a refund online. 

Its physical version:

  • You can load more than one CP transport ticket on the same card.
  • You can change the origin or destination of your CP Subscription without needing to get a new card.

Its digital version:

  • You can load the Green Railway Pass.

In its physical version:

The 50% Golden Card discount for pensioners is also loaded onto the CP Card. 

In its digital version:

You can request your CP Card in two ways:

  • On the CP website, in the Customer Area (request via Digital Mobile Key).
  • At any CP ticket office.

To request the digital version of the Card at the ticket office, you must present your Citizen Card.

Available options:

Card (physical + digital version)
Delivered within a maximum of 10 business days to a station of your choice or sent by mail to your residence.
Once the physical card is issued, the digital version becomes immediately available in the CP App.

Card (digital-only version)
Available after payment for the card.

Important information:

  • If you already have a physical CP Card, its digital version will automatically appear in the CP App, under "Wallet > Mobility Cards." This card only allows you to travel with the Green Railway Pass; any other loaded tickets, if available, will only be accessible for viewing.
  • The CP card (physical + digital version) will only be visible in the CP App if the email provided during the request matches the one registered in myCP.
  • If you requested the card on the CP website and chose both versions (physical and digital), and opted to pick up your physical card at the ticket office, please present the document you received by email confirming your request or the Digital Card already available in the CP App.

  • Cost of the Card (physical + digital version)- €6.00;
  • Cost of the Exclusively digital Card - €0.50;
  • Cost of the Card for free youth profile (U18 and U23) - €3.00;
  • Golden Card - €3.00.

 

If you want the card to be sent by post, there will be a charge of €2.50 for postage.
