Douro line - Replacement bus service

Train services between Marco de Canaveses and Régua will be suspended from 3 November 2026.

From 3 November 2026 until 24 March 2027, modernisation works on the rail line between Marco de Canaveses and Régua, mean the company will temporarily suspend rail services on this route.

During this period, CP will provide direct buses between Caíde and Régua as well as buses stopping at all stations between Marco de Canaveses and Régua.

On the replacement bus service, journey times may vary depending on weather and traffic conditions.

The replacement bus service cannot carry wheelchairs, bicycles or scooters. Small pets can be taken if they are in an appropriate container that can be carried as hand luggage.

Group tickets are not valid on the replacement bus service.
