Half-price golden card*

If you're a pensioner, take the opportunity to travel by train for half price.

The Golden Card get you half-price tickets for train journeys across the CP network, on Intercidades, Regional, InterRegional and urban trains (Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra).
The discount is loaded onto the CP Card and can be requested by pensioners, regardless of age, whose monthly household income (total income of people living together) does not exceed the national minimum wage.

You can apply for a CP Card with a ‘Golden Card’ profile at any CP ticket office by handing in the documents required to issue the CP Card, filling in the Golden Card application form and handing in the following documents:

proof of household composition from the Tax Authority website;
a copy of the personal income tax receipt, or a tax certificate proving the household's income, for people who are exempt from submitting their personal income tax return;
a copy of a document proving the monthly value of the pension(s) by means of a Social Security Statement, National Welfare Fund, Mutual Aid Association, International Relations Department and Social Security Conventions.
