Travelling in a group is an excellent way to share experiences. Schools, associations, friends or families all get special conditions for organised groups. Book in advance and discover how travelling together can be more affordable. 

Organise a tailor-made group trip on the Intercidades, InterRegional, Regional, Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra urban trains or find out about other discount options for smaller groups.  

 

  • The discount is for groups of at least 10 paying passengers;  
  • Requests for information and prices for group tickets must be made using the group form
  • For groups of up to 100 people, the request must be made at least 15 working days in advance; 
  • For groups with more than 100 people, the request must be made at least 30 working days in advance. 
  • The group return ticket costs €2 per person. From January 1, 2026, group tickets cost €3 per person;  
  • This price is valid for groups made up of at least 15 paying passengers;  
  • It can be used on any day and at any time. The return journey can be on a different day from the outward journey;  
  • Large groups are advised to travel between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. (off-peak times) to facilitate their mobility; 
  • Group tickets are loaded onto occasional traveller cards, the cost of each card being borne by customers (€0.50). Each occasional card is valid for a maximum of 30 people;  
  • Validation is compulsory before starting the journey, and each journey is valid for 3 hours after validation, with the last 30 minutes only being valid for departures;  
  • At stations with access doors, group members should preferably use the designated channel. The person in charge of the group, who will be holding the card, must place the card in the reader of the access door as many times as there are members of the group ticket that has been loaded. The access door will open automatically. At the validators, the card must be placed in the reader as many times as there are members of the group ticket that has been loaded.  
  • Each group must have a responsible person over the age of 18;  
  • Group leaders must accompany the group when entering and exiting the access channels, as well as when getting on and off trains;  
  • Group leaders must be aware of any transfers the group needs to make and the most suitable places to make them;  
  • Group leaders should, whenever possible, travel with a reflective waistcoat, especially when groups include children, young people or people with special needs;  
  • Groups that include people with special needs or children under the age of 5 can ask us to accompany them, subject to availability.  

 

On sale from  

  • Tickets for groups of 15 to 50 people can be purchased at the box office;  
  • Large groups (more than 50 people) should request information and booking at least 3 working days in advance using the group form 
  • The return group ticket costs €3 per person; 
  • It is valid for groups of at least 10 paying members;  
  • This price only applies to the regular service - urban trains, which are on the timetable in force. 

 

On sale from  

  • Tickets for groups of 10 to 30 members can be purchased at the ticket offices; 
  • Journeys to be made at any time on the regular service and any day of the week, except for rush hour; 
  • Large groups requiring support should use the group form:  
    • Groups of 31 to 40 members must book at least 3 working days in advance. 
    • Groups of 41 to 80 members must book at least 5 working days in advance. 
  • Groups of more than 80 people should request information and fill in the group form, as far in advance as possible.
