CP Bulletin

A landmark publication in the history of business communication, with a strong technical and educational focus.

The CP Bulletin, published between 1929 and 1974, addressed issues related to the progress of domestic and foreign railways and CP, aiming to increase and enhance workers' professional knowledge.

As an internal communication channel for professional training, equivalent to the media, and widely disseminated to the railway community and the general public, it enjoyed the permanent and assiduous collaboration of CP professionals, who wrote the texts and provided the accompanying images, including the cover artwork.

It made a comeback between 1992 and 2006, with the subtitle Folha informativa (Information Sheet). It recorded and disseminated information about the life of the company in the context of the process of “modernisation and conversion of the railways” – 1988-1994" and in response to the challenges of the liberalisation of the sector, following Portugal’s entry into the EEC, with the implementation of Community Directive 91/440/EC, which led to the creation of the infrastructure manager, and the major overhaul of the trains, with CP remaining responsible for railway operations.
